Thanksgiving Recipes!

Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner I wanted to share with you my all time favorite family recipes. I apologize for not having pictures right away, but I just couldn't get myself to make all these before Thanksgiving is here. I can guarantee they all look wonderful, and taste even better.

Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients
3 cups sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk
½ cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup butter
1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Directions
Combine mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk and ½ cup butter. Beat with mixer until smooth. Spoon into a greased 2 quart shallow casserole dish. In a small mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, 1/3 cup butter and walnuts; sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Makes 8-10 servings.


Fruit Slush

Ingredients
1 large can pineapple juice
2 small cans frozen orange juice
1 small can frozen lemonade
5 bananas, mashed
6 cups water
4 cups sugar
1-2 pkgs frozen raspberries
1-2 lemon lime soda

Directions
Dissolve sugar in water. Mix in remaining ingredients. Pour into container and freeze. Before serving, thaw slightly. To serve, scoop into a large punch bowl and pour lemon lime soda over it to fill.


Pumpkin Cobbler

Ingredients
1 small can pumpkin or ½ large
1 can evaporated milk
1 c sugar
3 eggs
4 tsp vanilla
1 cup butter
Cinnamon Crumble Cake or Spice Cake mix
Whipped Cream

Directions
Combine pumpkin, milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Pour into 9x13 greased pan. Sprinkle cake mix on top. Pour melted butter over. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Serve hot with whipped cream.

Dad’s Famous Stuffing

Ingredients
1 Tbsp butter
1 12oz pkg sage flavored sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
2 celery stalks
½ pound sliced mushrooms
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 14½oz can chicken broth
1 16oz pkg herb style stuffing mix
¼ cup chopped parsley

Directions
Melt butter in pan. Brown sausage. Add and cook onion, celery, mushrooms and poultry seasoning until onions are clear. Add chicken broth, and bring to a boil. Stir in stuffing mix and parsley. Cover with lid and remove from heat. Steam for 20 minutes. Serve with turkey or as a side dish.

Fresh Cranberry Relish

Ingredients
4 cups cranberries
1 large orange, seeds removed
1 large apple, seeds removed
2 cups sugar

Directions
Grind cranberries, apple and orange skin and pulp. Stir in sugar. Relish will keep a long time in refrigerator.
